Part of the site SSL secured now

It has been at our "wish" list as well as "todo" list for a long time. Finally last week we found some time to really start implementing it, and now, about a week later, it is fully implemented......... At least: we think it is fully implemented.

What is he talking about I hear you thinking ..... I'm talking about the implementation of an HTTPS part of the Linux Counter site, so finally you can log in at the Linux Counter site in a secure way, and also country-managers and maintainers can do their administrative tasks in a secure way.

Now I hear you think: hey .... are they using official certificates or will it be self signed ones? The answer will be that we have created our own, self signed, certificates. Two reasons for that at the moment:

• It is the first implementation of HTTPS at the Linux Counter site, and we really first wanted to see it working (and want to see it work for a while) before even thinking about spending money to become official certificates.
• Official certificates aren't that cheap that we can afford to just send out an email to get some. Actually, it is as well possible that we decide never to switch to official certificates. Reasons pro and contra will be carefully weighted.

At this very moment, you are the best testers we have, so please visit the sight and see if things work. When they don't work please send us an email to help@counter.li.org with a description what you have tried and the error you got. Ofcourse we'll then try to fix it :-)
